WorldDEM vs SRTM

Has anyone compared using the newer WorldDEM dataset for SDR erosion model versus using free 30 meter SRTM data? It is nice to have free SRTM data, but I know it is not ideal for this use. On the other hand, WorldDEM is rather expensive if modelling a large area. So I would like to know if it is superior and precisely why. That would also help in arguing for funding to purchase the dataset. Thanks.

    Hi Clinton -

I have never used WorldDEM, and our budgets generally don't include funding to buy one, so I've always used freely available DEMs. They're definitely not all of the same quality, and quality also differs from place to place. Sometimes they produce streams that look pretty good compared with real life, other times not good at all. Sorry that I can't comment on WorldDEM, but no matter what you use do a sanity check to see how well it represents streams.
