Pre Processing Riparian Buffer

Hello I was wondering for the riparian buffer distance what unit of measurement is the input in? I was also wondering what a standard number to input is for riparian buffer? I am working in Lago Ypacarai watershed Paraguay.

The unit of measurement is meters. There's not really a "standard" number, but since we're often working with 30m land use/land cover maps, we often use 30m. Just make sure you choose a value that is at least as large as the cell size for your land use/land cover, so the buffer is at least one cell wide. There may be local guidelines or laws that could help set the value, or you can try several values (multiples of your LULC cell size) to see how much this affects your results.
