Water yield model-Valuation part problems

Dear InVEST Model experts,

I am running the InVEST - water yield model, i got the results from the water yiled and water scarcity part, but always had the problems with the valuation part, i attched as below, could have some time to explian me why? And how to solve it?Thanks in advace and expect your respond!~

    I couldn't get the results on the 'service' folder, but still have the results from the 'output' folder for the dbf ones. But there also a problems that in the dbf results, the energy/value is zero. That's not reasonable.

    And as the above dfb results from the output foleder,  the strange thing is that, i have the water yield mn/sum value, rsupply_mn/vol value, there all not zero value, but why my hy_energy/hp_value is zero, it is not understandable, could somebody help to explain this? Thanks in advance!

    Hi Chunping Mei, 

    Have you checked your hydropower valuation table? This is the main input to the valuation module in the annual water yield model. Details in the User's guide Data Needs section. 

    If you inadvertently set the "fraction" or "height" fields to 0, this would result in the 0 values in the attribute table.

    Thanks for your suggestion, i checked the hydropower valuation table again, it is correct, no problems could be found any more, i attched it in the below, but the results is the same, no final results for the valuation. Could you please give some other suggestion from your experience or could check the hydropower valuation table, maybe there are some errors that i didn't find. Thanks in advance!

    Hi, I noticed from your log you're running InVEST 2.4.4.  That version of InVEST is several years old and we no longer support it.  I'd suggest downloading our most recent release http://data.naturalcapitalproject.org/invest-releases/InVEST_3_3_0_x86_Setup.exe

    Note since InVEST 3.0.0 we dropped ArcGIS as the computational platform for InVEST, so now everything is rolled into standalone windows applications.  You'll see them in your windows start menu after installation.  You'll also note that the hydropower model is consolidated into one application, rather than the 3 separate tools in the version you're doing.

    Sorry, there will be a bit of a learning curve there, but ultimately you'll be working with a model that's faster, workflow streamlined, and has many bugfixes.

  • Thanks for your information. But how about the retention of nutrient, retention of sediment of fresh water, if i use the new version, how about this two services that i want to model as well. I didn't find them in the model list. Thanks in advance and expect your respond. :-)

    Hi, 

    These two models are in the new version of InVEST, under the name "NDR" and "SDR", respectively (standing for nutrient delivery and sediment deliver, respectively).
